Old Colony Planning Council is engaged in a number of ongoing programs designed to approach transportation planning in a holistic manner. The impact of transportation projects on mobility, environmental sustainability, safety and security, and livability is considered in all plans. Each of these topics is explored in detail in this section, along with information on organizations in the state and region that are involved in facilitating these goals.
The Old Colony Planning Council is the designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for twenty-three communities in southeastern Massachusetts. The Area Agency on Aging administers and plans for elder service needs. The AAA service region is comprised of twenty-three communities.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
OCPC utilizes Geographic Information Systems to help collect, analyze, visualize and display spatial data in support of our projects. Our GIS department produces maps, graphics and data from a variety of source materials, and can collect local data to support community projects.
As a designated Economic Development District (EDD), OCPC assists our communities in attracting and retaining businesses.
Community Septic Management Program
Low-interest loans are available to homeowners to address septic systems that have failed a Title 5 inspection.
